Liberal MPs will need two-thirds of election expenses raised by March to ward off nomination challenges
By Stuart Benson Verified| nationalnewswatch.com@ Incumbent Liberal MPs will need to “stay hungry” if they want to fend off a potential nomination contest ahead of the 45th federal election, as even the price of acclamation doesn’t seem immune to the rising cost of inflation. Under new rules emailed to caucus members on Nov. 1, incumbent MPs will need at least 65 per cent of the expense limit for their electoral district deposited in their respective association’s bank account by March 1, 2023, if they hope to be acclaimed as the party’s nominee.
