And yet here we are again, reporting tragic and gruesome details about our Orlando colleagues killed and injured by gunshots on Feb. 22, 2023, while on a news scene. Spectrum News 13 journalists, reporter Dylan Lyons, 24, and photographer Jesse Walden, were working at the scene of a homicide investigation when a gunman shot and killed Lyons and critically injured Walden. A 9-year-old girl was killed in a separate but related shooting.
