Brandi Stewart-Sperry elected not to testify or call any evidence in her defence Wednesday after four weeks of testimony from Crown witnesses. When asked by Justice Andrew Goodman if he was electing to call evidence in Stewart-Sperry’s case, her lawyer Scott Reid said, “Absolutely not, Your Honour.”Stewart-Sperry showed no emotion in the courtroom.

    By Susan Clairmont Verified| The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ON) Verified The man accused of being recorded on video fatally shooting an OPP officer will not testify at his first-degree murder trial. In fact, Randall McKenzie’s legal team won’t be calling any evidence at all. After the prosecution called its last witness Tuesday, Cayuga Crown attorney Fraser McCracken told the court “that would be the case for the Crown” against McKenzie and his co-accused, Brandi Stewart-Sperry.
