In the year ending June 2024, New Zealand wine exports saw a 12.2% drop in value and a 13% drop in volume compared to the previous year. Picking of this season’s sauvignon blanc vintage has just started, with yields high and wineries moving on to 24-hour operations on Monday.

There are about 100 blueberry growers with the crop mainly grown in Waikato and Hawke’s Bay, with some in Northland, Wellington and Nelson. New Zealand produced about 4000 tonnes in 2023/2024 on 1000 hectares.
