Senior linebacker Danny Stutsman, who recorded 109 total tackles and a sack during the regular season, was named to the All-SEC First Team. Stutsman is a finalist for the Butkus Award and started all 12 games this season.

While Norman North was not able to put things together on offense for a lot of the game, the opposite can be said for Bixby. While forcing four turnovers in the first half -three being interceptions and one being a forced fumble, Bixby was able to jump out to a 31-0 lead. After a Norman North touchdown to make the game 31-7, Bixby scored 28 unanswered points to finish the game.
