On July 29, 2023 at around 12:38 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian hit-and-run collision in the 8200-block of 128 Street. The pedestrian, Zachary Frise, was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police say Frise was helped by several Good Samaritans before officers arrived on scene.

Police said they were called to a report of a fight in the 6600-block of King George Boulevard around 11:50 p.m. on July 23. There, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, he died at the scene. Police are now identifying the deceased as 47-year-old Jason Richard Gill of Surrey.
