I am a journalist for the Tygerburger, a community newspaper in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town, currently covering stories for the Goodwood edition which forms part of the over 300 000 copies distributed weekly AND recently placed second at tye FCJ Excellence Awards under the Best Free Corporate-owned newspaper with pagination under 24. My mission, when covering stories for the paper, is to inform, educate as well as inspire the public. Writing about youth that are doing great things to better the community as well as the lives of others will forever be one of my favourite things to write about.

There are over 30 types of muscular dystrophy and the effects thereof differ from sufferers based on the type and extremity of the disease. With September being Muscular Dystrophy Month, non-profit organisation Muscular Dystrophy Foundation aims to educate the public on this incurable rare disease.
