Biography

Hey! I'm Tiia, an essayist, critic, and editor living in Naarm (Melbourne). I write about film, popular culture, and digital ephemera. My work can be found in The Guardian, Overland, Meanjin, The Big Issue, Senses of Cinema, Kill Your Darlings, Australian Book Review, and elsewhere. I was a 2022 Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow and a shortlisted writer for the 2021 Deakin University Nonfiction Prize. ​I've participated in the Critics Lab for the Melbourne Women in Film Festival (MWFF) and the Critics Campus for the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF). I can sometimes be heard reviewing films for ABC Radio Melbourne's Victorian Evenings.
