Biography
I am a first generation college student and senior at Texas State University majoring in journalism with a concentration in media production and minors in business administration and media studies. I am is the news editor at the University Star, the university’s student-run newspaper. I have also worked at the university’s radio station, KTSW 89.9, as assistant web content manager. Each of these positions allowed me to work with organizations and students to assure them they have a voice on campus, that their concerns matter, and represented them. After graduation, I hope to work for a news station or attend graduate school abroad. In my past years as a journalist I have spoken to and worked with many organizations in various communities, such as Mano Amiga, a social justice organization, The League of Women Voters, Texas State’s Chapter of NAACP, San Marcos’s Dunbar Heritage Association, Texas State’s Black Art Association, and more. My goals are to write and produce content that spreads awareness, is enjoyable and informs. I have the strive, dedication and heart to do my best and to pursue a career in journalism.
