The Kingston Elementary School pupil – donning a T-shirt bearing the words “SPELLING BEE” along with images of bees – won the Tuscola County Fourth-Grade Spelling Bee. Kinslee’s mom, Nicole Fields, took credit for the shirt, which she ordered on April 9 – the day before the spelling bee – from Brentwood Graphics in Caro. “They gave me same-day service,” said Nicole Fields, the wife of Matthew Fields, who is Kinslee’s father.

William E. “Bill” Putman II, 64, of Tuscola County’s Ellington Township, is charged with fighting in public, disturbing schools, and using language or gestures causing public disorder.
