By Tom Markland Verified| The Journal Verified MARTINSBURG – For the eighth consecutive year, Berkeley County’s levy rate will stay at 13.39% for the upcoming 2025/2026 fiscal year, with the new levy rate being adopted in a Tuesday meeting. According to the Berkeley County Commission, the property tax levy is projected to generate $29,285,342 million in support of Berkeley County’s next fiscal year budget to help fund government services. The county’s total budget estimate for 2025-2026 is $54,394,403.

The new agreement will see veterans at the VA receiving long-term care from the team at Care Haven Center, an especially convenient partnership considering how close the two medical centers are. Despite having been open across the street from the VA since 1987, it’s the first time the two organizations have worked together in this capacity.
