The incident occurred in late March when, sometime between 2 and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 27, 2025, the suspect was “observed attempting to gain access to a locked building,” Kingston Police said.
By Tori Stafford| Kingstonist Verified UPDATE (Monday, Apr. 14, 2025):A wanted federal offender known to frequent the Kingston area has been arrested in the United States, according to authorities. In a press release on Monday, Apr. 14, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad said that 27-year-old Cody Butler was located and arrested by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in New York. The authorities did not say whereabouts in New York Butler was located, nor on what date.
