Gary L. Moore, 42, was charged in the shooting that happened just before 6:30 p.m. on April 2, 2022. Roosevelt A. McKinney, 33, of Norfolk, died at the scene. Two other people, a man and a woman, were struck by gunfire and suffered ankle injuries. Moore was identified as a suspect in the shooting within the week.

  • 3 fires, 1 at Military Highway Taco Bell, keep Norfolk firefighters busy

    By Tracy Agnew Cooper Verified| WVEC-TV (Norfolk, VA) Verified NORFOLK, Va. — It was a busy night for Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews, who responded to three fire calls within an hour. The first call happened at 8:09 p.m. at the Taco Bell at 1113 N. Military Highway. Battalion Chief Fred Paquet with Norfolk Fire-Rescue said crews found heavy smoke coming from the eatery. The quickly searched to ensure everyone was out of the building before they evacuated the structure and began attacking the fire from outside.
