Biography

A wordsmith and storyteller first and second, I've worked in commercial and public radio since I started college. As a producer at Michigan Public (NPR) since 2018, I've covered a wide range of issues making news in Michigan -- from closely following political campaigns, to stories on grassroots political culture, Michigan's economies, housing, and a few sports stories every now and then. As on-air talent, I excel at re-writing scripts, ad libs, and energetic delivery that keeps the audience engaged while conveying the most important information, including a sense of why they should care. As a radio producer, I love making sound-rich stories and promotional materials that convey a sense of place.

The emergency declaration came after parts of the northern Lower Peninsula and eastern Upper Peninsula were covered in snow and ice over the course of multiple days at the end of last month. Thick ice coated nearly everything and brought down countless trees, limbs and branches.

By Tyler Scott Verified, Amanda Peacher Verified| APM Marketplace Verified On the shores of Starvation Lake in Northern Michigan, the Hideaway Bar is a popular spot for snowmobilers to thaw out after hours riding the trails. Curtis Goings and his buddies are here. They came all the way from Indiana. “We got a group of about 10 of us,” Goings said. “We’re always out there drag racing. We’re always out there having a good time.”At the height of the pandemic, while consumers were looking for recreational opportunities outdoors, snowmobile sales were healthy.
