Biography

Vanessa Araiza joined the News 6 team in August of 2016 as dayside reporter. Vanessa grew up in the Ocala area and is happy to be back in the Sunshine State. The Ocala-area native graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelors in Communications and a specialization in Journalism. She quickly landed her first reporting job at WTVY in Dothan, Alabama covering everything from devastating severe weather to the Geneva County massacre. However, one of her most memorable stories was traveling with a group of military veterans to Washington D.C. for the Wiregrass honor flight. During her four year tenure she also won an Associated Press award for Best Feature reporter.
