Vickie Chachere is a journalist and communications strategist with more than three decades of experience covering one of the nation's most dynamic states. She is the former Executive Editor of Florida Trend, an award-winning magazine that is one of the nation’s leading regional business publications and celebrating its 65th year of publication, in 2022. Previously, Vickie spent 13 years as a member of the University of South Florida communications team, serving as a speechwriter and director of special projects for the Office of the President and as director of strategic communications for USF Research & Innovation. Vickie’s two-decade career as a Florida journalist includes working as a reporter and editorial writer for The Tampa Tribune and serving as supervisory correspondent for the Associated Press in Tampa, where she was a member of the AP team named finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the 2000 presidential recount. She is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University and a native of southern Oregon.
