Biography
In October 2023, Viktor Elias co-founded The Skeena Reporter, an independent, reader-supported news outlet based in Terrace. The Skeena Reporter is committed to providing comprehensive coverage of all things Terrace and Kitimat. This endeavor marked a fresh chapter in Elias's distinguished career in journalism. Prior to this, Elias was a Multimedia Journalist with The Terrace Standard, part of Black Press Media, from April to September 2023. His foray into the media industry began in 2013 with the establishment of Hits 93 Toronto, an Internet radio station that swiftly amassed over 100,000 Twitter followers by 2014. Expanding his journalistic horizon in 2018, Elias launched The Times of Toronto, a data journalism news outlet. His deep-seated passion for journalism led him to pursue a Bachelor of Journalism degree at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in 2020. In the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, Elias moved to Athens, Greece, where he worked for the Greek Reporter, serving the English-speaking Greek diaspora. Upon returning to Canada in 2022, he lent his expertise to 105.9 FM THE REGION in Woodbridge, Ontario before eventually joining The Terrace Standard the following year.

Global demand for lithium batteries is set to jump five-fold by 2030, and the world could face a shortage of “white gold” as soon as 2025. The California Energy Commission calls it “Lithium Valley,” and projected in 2020 that it could supply an estimated 600,000 tons per year with a value of $7.2 billion.
By Viktor Elias| Greek Reporter Verified Scientists in Australia have recently discovered a new species of crocodile, whose last meal was a dinosaur. The new crocodile species dates back to the Cretaceous period when most of the commonly known dinosaurs were roaming the Earth. And its last meal was reportedly a young dinosaur. In 2010, fossilized bones were excavated from a sheep station near the Winton Formation, a geological rock bed that is nearly 95 million years old, in eastern Australia.
