National Herald is a historic Indian media organization founded in 1938 by Jawaharlal Nehru. It began as a daily newspaper aimed at supporting the Indian National Congress during the independence movement. The publication operates under the motto "Freedom Is in Peril, Defend It with All Your Might" and is published by The Associated Journals Ltd (AJL), a non-profit entity focused on nation-building and public interest journalism. The National Herald includes several publications: its flagship English daily, along with Hindi and Urdu sister publications, Navjivan and Qaumi Awaz, respectively. In recent years, it has transitioned into a multi-media outlet with a strong online presence. The organization emphasizes a commitment to secularism and social harmony, reflecting its historical roots and current editorial focus.
