Biography
Hi! My name is Vivian, and I love telling stories. Whether it be that of my own or others, I've always had a passion for retelling lived experiences through digital media and journalism. In my work, I strive to give a voice to the voiceless and populate mainstream news cycles with diverse narratives. I want traditionally underrepresented individuals to feel visible and proud of occupying space within the work that I create because representation in media is so crucial to identity formation and perception. To carry out these goals, I have trained expertise in Adobe InDesign, WordPress, Canva, copy editing, and writing through a multitude of journalistic leadership positions. I served as a reporting fellow for the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting and the executive editor of the student newspaper, The Flat Hat. I am now a Jim Lehrer Fellow at PBS News Hour. I graduated from William & Mary Summa Cum Laude with a self-designed degree in Journalism and Digital Media along with my primary degree in History, fascinated by the dual process of learning the past while participating in the documentation of the present.
