Biography My name is Wani Yusif Farjallah also known as Emmanuel Wani Yusif. I am the youngest of seven children born to Yusif Farjallah Allah-Jabu. I was born on a Saturday, July 2nd, 1994 in Juba to a family of mixed religions. My father's side is Muslim and my mother's side is Christian. Before this, I studied Journalism and Communication at the Media Development Institute (MDI). In the year 2017, I obtained my Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (U.A.C.E) in Arts, with subjects including History, Economics, Divinity, and General Paper. This was after completing my Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E) in 2015 at Nsozibbiri Comprehensive Secondary School in Jinja-Uganda. Skills I always try to maintain an optimistic attitude in any situation. I have expertise in various areas, including web editing, Wikipedia editing, photography, visual editing, graphic design, scriptwriting, fact-checking with 211 Check certification, blogging, social media management, training, and podcasting. Experience Since October 2022, I have been working as a news reporter for the Catholic Radio Network (CRN) as a Digital Media Journalist. My responsibilities include gathering news, conducting interviews, writing articles, producing podcasts for Afripods, managing social media, and editing web content. In addition, I currently serve as the Social Media Manager and Social Communication Officer for both the Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS) and the Media Development Institute (MDI). As the MDI clerk, I plan, develop, implement, and manage social media strategies for the organization's pages. I also create content, respond to comments, and engage with the audience to develop a relatable company voice. Additionally, I document information about students and other institutional documentaries, analyze engagement data, and identify trends in customer interactions to help plan digital campaigns that build brand loyalty. Previously, I worked as a Payam Youth Trainer for Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative from 2020 to 2021, where I trained youth on conflict resolution, management, and peacebuilding. I also conducted community mobilization. Before I transitioned to journalism, I served as a primary school teacher for at least three years, from 2018 to 2021, at Nile International Academy and Faith Nursery and Primary School in 2019. Recent Projects I recently led a training session for young individuals on the Wiki-for-Human Rights project, which is supported by the Wikimedia Foundation and Wikipedia. During this training, I emphasized the significance of biodiversity and the right of every human being to live in a healthy environment. In the past, I organized a WikiEducation program, which aimed to educate students on the value of using Wikipedia as a learning resource. During African Youth Month, I received a Memento for my significant contribution to the South Sudan Wikimedia community. This recognition was centered around member retention, community programs that facilitate inter-organizational partnerships, and community moderation aimed at promoting growth. Featured Project I am currently collaborating with 211 Check, the only fact-checking organization in South Sudan, to provide training to fact-checkers, activists, and media practitioners on how to contribute content to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons to provide readers with credible information on all branches of knowledge online.
