Police posted to X about a “serious crash” in the westbound lanes of the highway by Parkdale Avenue at 1:08 p.m.One person was taken to hospital, police say in an email. Their injuries are unknown at this time. Ministry of Transportation cameras in the area show traffic backups remain on the downtown stretch of the Queensway as of 1:40 p.m.One lane of the highway remains closed.

  • No indication burglarized flower shop with ties to Ottawa Jewish community was hate-motivated: police

    By William Eltherington Verified| CJOH-TV (Ottawa, ON) Verified A popular flower shop on Bank Street near Billings Bridge with ties to the Ottawa Jewish community was burglarized and ransacked sometime overnight of Nov. 13. The Ottawa Police confirmed Tuesday morning that they had responded to a call at that location at around 10 a.m. on Nov. 13. OPS said in a statement that while the store has close ties to the Jewish community, there is no indication that the incident was hate-motivated at this time.

  • Additional measles exposures reported in Kingston, Napanee areas

    By William Eltherington Verified| CJOH-TV (Ottawa, ON) Verified The South East Health Unit (SEHU) is reporting additional exposures to measles in Kingston, Napanee, Tamworth and Prince Edward County linked to a new positive case in the area. The health unit said in a news release Tuesday that in addition to locations previously reported in the region, five more possible exposure sites have been detected.
