The body was found on the ground in the 800 block of South State Street around 1:15 a.m., according to Chicago police. The man who was believed to be 30, but whose identity wasn’t immediately released, suffered unspecified trauma to his body, police said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

  • Body in suburban forest preserve; identity and cause of death unknown

The skeletal remains were found on the west side of the Des Plaines River at Dam No. 1 Woods West near the 700 block of South Milwaukee Avenue in Wheeling after a caller reached out to local police just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Forest Preserve.
