Shypitka is questioning how long “temporary” is in this instance and if the word is offering false hope that the facility will ever reopen, he says recent announcements about bolstering health care staff in BC have not materialized locally.

  • Ghostriders up 2-0 in Kootenay Conference Finals

Fernie leads the third round playoff series 2-0 after taking wins in games one and two in Fruitvale Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game ended in a 3-2 win for Fernie, Saturday was a 6-4 final. The Ghostriders will have a chance to move to a 3-0 series lead in game three Tuesday in Fernie.
