Biography

I'm a biologist-turned-journalist specializing in documentary filmmaking and health and science reporting. I care about making science and information accessible, relatable and actionable. I am developing my beats on psychological trauma and my filmmaking on character-based vignettes. I'm interested in covering the intersection of health and social issues, and in reporting on the SWANA region and its diasporas. I speak English, Arabic and French. I recently finished a remote production internship with Radical Media where I worked on outreach and crowdsourcing for PBS American Portrait and edited video reels for social media. My articles and videos have also appeared in Scheherazade Speaks Science, the Brooklyn Reader, City Limits, and the NYC News Service.
