  • Former North Dakota Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford named interim University System chancellor

Brent Sanford as interim chancellor for the North Dakota University System following the retirement announcement of Mark Hagerott. Sanford, who has been interim president at Bismarck State College since January, will take over for Hagerott on April 30, according to a statement. Last week, Hagerott announced his intention to retire at the end of April, despite originally planning to step down in December.
