Biography
Zohreen Adamjee’s a full-time staff reporter at FOX 11 Los Angeles. Her coverage includes the San Bernardino massacre, the Porter Ranch gas leak and the Led Zeppelin trial. Her on-air career started with freelance reporting at Bakersfield's CBS station. After just four days there, FOX40′s news director saw her work and she jumped to market 20 in Sacramento. She frequently covered stories from the State Capitol, city hall, a wildfire or crime scene. She often shot and edited multiple pieces a day. She was the station's social media reporter/producer and morning web editor her first year. She also launched a live 30-minute online show called “Capitol Conversations” where she interviewed California’s top politicians. Her interviews included Senate leader Kevin de Leon, former Senate leader Darrell Steinberg and now suspended State Senator Leland Yee. Her roots go back to Los Angeles. She has lived and worked in 12 different L.A. County neighborhoods. After graduating UCLA, she worked in CAA and FOX's scripted entertainment TV divisions. She soon discovered her passion was on the news side of the media. She jumped to the L.A. Times where she wrote for their technology blog. She also convinced editors to allow her to start latimes.com’s first audio podcast to feature the paper’s biggest stories. She then received a broadcast journalism master's degree from Columbia Journalism School. She covered New York City’s housing projects and reported from Israel and the West Bank. While in New York, 60 Minutes requested her to help translate interviews shot in Pakistan for a Steve Kroft piece. Adamjee was then selected from a competitive pool of graduates to be a master’s fellow at CNN Los Angeles. She enterprised stories, shot/edited video and wrote for CNN.com. She frequently covers the technology beat and is passionate about connecting with viewers on social media. She has over a 100k combined followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Adamjee is a member of the South Asian Journalists Association and is one of the only Pakistani TV reporters in California. She’s frequently requested by various L.A. South Asian associations to emcee events. Adamjee is also the author of a cookbook focusing on South Asian foods. In her free time, she fosters sick and injured animals.
