Biography

Zuzana Gogová (1990) is a self-taught photographer born and raised in Eastern Slovakia. She writes too. Her photography intentions slowly transformed from purely documentarian to conducting more in-depth stories. She defines her work as visual research as she tends to work with archives, personal memory (letters, diaries), and meeting people willing to share their stories. Holding the camera is grounding her in new territories - outside of her region, outside of her county, outside of her way of thinking, as she likes to say. In 2018 she participated in the VII Summer School of Storytelling in Sarajevo. She has been chosen for Nikon-NOOR Masterclass (2018), The Eddie Adams Workshop (2020) and received VII Academy Scholarship (2020) Currently works as a stringer photographer for Getty Images. Her pictures appeared in The Guardian, Politico, Business Insider, The Times, Vice, Spiegel, CNN, NPR, GEO Magazine, Fair Planet, and others.
